LAMAR JACOBS (Producer)
After having performed in the Kent Stake Productions of “The Music Man” (Harold Hill), and “Fiddler on the Roof” (Avram & Producer), Lamar is pleased to once again be working with the Kent Stake Musical Production team. His most recent endeavor was as a producer for “Dream Weaver’s” 40th anniversary production of “Saturday’s Warrior” in Gilbert, Arizona. He became intrigued with theater as a young boy when his older brother involved him in many of his High School plays and musicals such as “Enter Laughing”, “Out of the Frying Pan” and “The King and I”.
Lamar has written, produced and directed several church productions, many of these with his wife, whom he met performing in Summer Stock Theater near Logan, Utah. He says: “What I like most about theater, is watching the process from first rehearsal chaos, to final performance harmony”.

She and her husband Randy moved to the Kent Washington area in 2005. They are the parents of 5 children and 11 grandchildren. She continues to serve as Stake Cultural Arts specialist and direct her ward choir.
JEANETTE WANNER (Music Director)
Being a part of the Kent Stake musicals has been such a joy. I was the music director for our first stake musical, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”. Was music director for our “Wizard of Oz”, “Fiddler On the Roof”, and co-music director for “The Music Man”. It’s been a fun challenge to bring instruments out of storage, dust them off, and get them played once again! For many of our orchestra members, our musicals are the only place they have an opportunity to play. Honored to have conducted our Kent/Maple Valley/Renton Stakes performance of Handel’s “Messiah” at least a dozen times that I can count.
I first began conducting as a brand new member of the church at 18 years old. I was handed a church manual called “Handbook on Conducting” and got started!
Have attended several BYU Conducting Workshops at BYU Provo under the direction of Ronald Staheli and Rosalind Hall which were wonderful and enlightening. Have served as a Ward Choir Director for a few years (please don’t count them….I don’t want anyone to notice how long I’ve been serving!). I love my ward choir for all the time, energy, beautiful music, and testimony they fill my life with and bless our ward with. It has also been a treasured opportunity to conduct many stake conference and special event choirs. I love the challenges of conducting and I’m so grateful to my musical mentors in the church through the years.
JENNI WARNER (Assistant Director)
Jenni grew up in a very musical family and participated in theater as well as many string ensembles in Idaho and Utah. She performed in musicals up through high school such as Annie, Meet Me In St. Louis, Beauty and the Beast, Once Upon a Mattress, and Saturday’s Warrior.
After high school she completed a Music Education Degree at BYU-Idaho in 2005. While there she played in several pit orchestras and served as concert master of 3 different ensembles.
Most recently she has served as concert master for the Ensign Symphony and Chorus. She has taught private violin and viola lessons for the past 17 years. Currently she loves to plan parties, serve as her ward choir director, hang out with friends, sing, experiment with interior design, run an AirBnB, and spending time with her family.
LISA HILLYARD (Assistant Choreographer)
Lisa graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and Dance. At USU, she was a member of the Aggiette Drill Team, DanceWorks Modern Dance Company & The LDS Institute’s “Sounds of Zion” where she met and married Kim, her husband of 30 years. After moving to Kent, she owned and directed the of Dance Academy of Kent before becoming a stay at home Mom. She has choreographed for church area dance festivals in Utah and Washington and musicals for Kentlake High School and Kent Stake. Her favorites included Singing in The Rain and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Lisa is excited to be involved in this new production for the Kent Stake. She is proud to be the Mom of three amazing children and two adorable granddaughters!
